About East Coast Elite
The Corps Historical First Decade's

The Corps origins trace back to 1953 when a Boys Brigade Band was formed by Trinity Methodist Church in Cleethorpes. The band was originally called the Silver Brass Concert Band.
1953
Silver Brass Concert Band formed by the Boys Brigade at Trinity Church, Cleethorpes.
Early 1960's
1st Cleethorpes Boys Brigade and 2nd Cleethorpes Girls Brigade Bands amalgamated with a base at St Andrews Methodist Church, Cleethorpes.
Concert style music was played.

1980's
The Band competed in concert style competitions and moved into marching band competitions.
1986
The Band entered their first competition in BYBA Novice Class in Cleethorpes.
Early 1990's
The musical emphasis of the Band began to shift towards the marching band style, however, they continued to play concert style programmes during the winter months.
The Band became more successful in the Boys Brigade 'National' Marching Band competitions.
During this time some Band members were successful in gaining places in American Drums Corps.

Mid 1990's
The Band won the Contest Class at the BYBA National Finals in Wembley Arena.
The Band developed into a complete marching band and in 1996 won the Championship Class at the BYBA National Finals at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham.
Late 1990's
The Band continued to develop and more complex music and drill were used.
The Band changed its name to the 'East Coast Elite Brass and Percussion Corps' to complete their transition to an American style marching band.

Into the new millennium…..
The Corps continued to develop and has also attracted new members of all ages.
In 2006 the Corps won the Championship Class League at the BYBA National Finals in Birmingham.
