East Coast Elite Brass and Percussion Corps

East Coast Elite is a non-profit independent Youth Organisation assisting all young people around Grimsby, Cleethorpes and the surrounding areas in North East Lincolnshire in the performing arts. 

We are a drum corps style marching band consisting of brass, tuned percussion and marching percussion.  We are well supported by experienced instructors in all sections including some staff who trained in the USA and others who are full-time peripatetic teachers.

The band was founded originally in 1953 with a change of name in 1989 and includes a winter concert band programme and are a member of the British Youth Marching Band Association and The Federation of Youth Marching Bands.

The organisation provides an interesting and at times a physically demanding opportunity for young people to take part in the youth music.   We provide a variety of music for unique and creative shows, this year being titled ‘From Heaven Above’.

Why join a Marching Band?

East Coast Elite provides its members with a musical education. Our activity is primarily a musical learning experience with emphasis on the development of life skills:

Self motivation, discipline, leadership, development of individuals and team work

We encourage every member to become part of the team but ensure that they realise the importance that their individual role may play.

The objective of East Coast Elite is to advance the musicianship of young people by encouraging members to enjoy and sample both marching band and concert band style instruments.
